保罗.罗伯逊一位美国黑人歌唱家，却在全世界用中英文演唱中国的《义勇军进行曲》；他没有来过中国，却与中国众多艺术家及民主战士有着同志般的情谊。

第一个以独唱录制中国国歌的并不是中国人，虽说那时还不是国歌。1941年, 美國黑人男低音歌唱家罗伯逊灌錄歷史上第一張中国歌曲專輯唱片"Chee Lai: Songs of New China” , Robeson先唱國語, 然後英文. 宋慶齡親為唱片撰寫序言! 主題曲 “Chee Lai” 就是《義勇軍進行曲》。
